Synopsis:
What does it mean to be strong for a woman? Archetypically, strength is a value associated with men. But the strength and resiliency that the feminine identities, the ones on edge, have developed along with the history of humanity, have a different nature; it is wilder, delicate, and more connected to ourselves.
This excerpt is part of a future evening-length project that aims to explore and challenge the expected associated standards of women in life (and dance), inviting the audience to reflect on the strength, power, control, feminine symbols, and their implications on our modern society. This excerpt explores the embodiment of the dichotomy of fragility-strength and agreement/dissent.
Sinopsis:
¿Qué significa ser fuerte para una mujer? Arquetípicamente, la fuerza es un valor asociado con los hombres. Pero la fuerza y resiliencia que las identidades femeninas, identidades dejadas al margen; han desarrollado a lo largo de la historia de la humanidad otra naturaleza; es más salvaje, delicada y en mayor conexión con nosotrxs mismxs.
Este fragmento es parte de un futuro proyecto de formato completo que tiene como objetivo explorar y desafiar los estereotipos de las mujeres en la vida (y la danza), invitando a la audiencia a reflexionar sobre la fuerza, el poder, el control, los símbolos femeninos y sus implicaciones en nuestra sociedad moderna. Este extracto explora la encarnación de la dicotomía fragilidad-fuerza y acuerdo/disentimiento.
