International Hidalgo Dance Festival
"Café y Cigarros X" is a remake inspired by the aesthetic and body of work of the iconic filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. It is a new work that inevitably evokes those films of the 1990s.
Constructed upon a farcical tone, it calls to mind Tarantino’s emblematic films: *Pulp Fiction*, *Kill Bill*, *Reservoir Dogs*, and *From Dusk till Dawn*.
Music, aesthetics, surrealism, and absurdity inspire the
choreographic structure, which finds in coffee and cigarettes the perfect pretext to recreate anecdotes regarding the myriad possibilities that can unfold when people cross paths amidst the drifting smoke of coffee or a cigarette.
